What Does Pay-It-Forward Mean?
- Your donation will go directly towards facilitating Route’s programme of activities for young people facing financial barriers to entry into the music industry. This includes workshops, mentorships and placements.
- Paying it forward allows us to subsidise free tickets to our workshops, events and networking opportunities for those unable to afford it
- Your donation allows us to continue our placement programme scheme which puts young people from economically deprived backgrounds in work by helping pay for a young person’s travel.
Testimonials
Yusuf Alhallak, Route Placementee
“Before my placement, I really was not very confident in the professional working environment. I found it very daunting and quite overwhelming to be in spaces full of professionals but through the programme I learned how to navigate those spaces and feel that I do belong here. I’ve worked to get here.”
End of The Road Festival, Placement Facilitators
“We all know there is an issue with diversity in the industry and this programme is a great step towards helping reduce that issue. It would be great to roll it out to more companies in future years and offer more placements”
ROAM, Placementee Facilitators
“[Through the programme] I’ve learned that we should be casting the net wider to find people, also a slower approach to training and nurturing. Since the programme we’ve put in a fuller training programme for any other interns.”
“It gives individuals out of London and from different backgrounds an opportunity to get experience in the music industry, a better understanding and constructive way to learn.”
“We have gone on to offer a position to our placement and the team has found it hugely rewarding.”
